General description

SSC Buffer powder is a standard reagent in Southern and Northern blotting procedures. This powder can be used to make SSC working solutions with concentrations ranging from 0.5x to 20x.

Application

Suitable for:

Preparing nucleic acids for hybridization
Hybridization buffer for Northern and Southern blots
Washing buffer for Northern and Southern blots

Easy-to-use powder makes fast, inexpensive solutions

Dissolve 263.5 g in a final volume of 1L molecular biology grade water. The resulting 20x concentrate is approximately pH 7, and can be further diluted with water, as needed.

Other Notes

SSC Buffer powder contains 0.3 M sodium citrate in 3M NaCl.
