General description

Sigmaโ€ฒs 1 kb Ladder contains 11 fragments consisting of 500 bp repeats from 0.5 to 3 kb, 1 kb repeats from 3 to 6 kb, and 2 kb repeats from 6 to 10 kb. In nucleic acid gel electrophoresis, five ฮผl of the marker should be diluted in gel loading buffer and then loaded in a single lane on an agarose or polyacrylamide gel. Suitable for use in Northern and Southern blotting. All DNA markers can be stained with ethidium bromide, SYBRยฎ Green, and Nancy-520.

1 kb DNA Ladder has been used as a molecular marker to determine the molecular weight and size of double stranded DNA during gel electrophoresis.
