General description
Kv1.7 voltage-gated K+ channel is a member of the Shaker family of K+ channels that includes eight members (Kv1.1- Kv1.8). The biophysical and pharmacological properties of the Kv1.7 channel closely resemble that of the ultra-rapidly activating delayed rectifier (IKur) in cardiac tissue. This current plays a central role in cardiac atria repolarization that was largely believed to correspond to the activity of the Kv1.5 channel.
Immunogen
peptideTTRKAQEIHGKAPG (C) corresponding to residues 2-15 of mouse Kv1.7.
Physical form
Lyophilized powder from phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA and 0.025% sodium azide.
Preparation Note
Reconstitute the lyophilized vial with 50 μL or 200 μL deionized water, depending on package size. Further dilutions should be made using a carrier protein such as BSA (1-3%).

A novel human potassium channel gene was identified and isolated. The maximal open reading frame encodes a protein of 456 amino acids. The predicted product exhibits 91% amino acid identity to the murine voltage-gated potassium channel protein Kv1.7 (Kcna7), which
