General description

Cortisol reflects stress response and adrenal function. Estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone regulate reproductive physiology. T3 and T4 are essential for metabolic rate and thyroid function. Together, these hormones provide a comprehensive view of endocrine health across species.

Application

MILLIPLEX® Qualified assays undergo rigorous assay development, verification, and Quality Control testing to achieve optimal performance. Simultaneously analyze up to 6 analytes across multiple species using serum, plasma, tissue lysates, or tissue/cell culture supernatants.

Analytes Included: Cortisol, Estradiol, Progesterone, T3, T4, Testosterone
Note: This is a competitive assay. This assay requires an extraction step for serum and plasma samples (instructions are provided in the kit protocol).

Assay Characteristics: Refer to the assay protocol for details on cross-reactivity, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy.

Features and Benefits

Features:

  • Multiplex detection of 6 hormones in a single assay
  • Cross-species compatibility for rodents, primates, and other models
  • Magnetic bead-based format for efficient and reproducible processing
  • High sensitivity for low-abundance endocrine markers

Benefits:

  • Conserves sample volume and reagents through multiplexing
  • Enables comprehensive profiling of hormonal status
  • Supports translational and comparative endocrinology research
  • Provides robust, quantitative data for statistical analysis

Hormone therapy (HT) is used to treat menopause-related conditions and symptoms. The small intestine plays key roles in metabolic and endocrine function, but the effects of HT on the small intestinal microbiome are unknown. Here, we characterize duodenal microbiome differences

The capability of male mice to exercise in hot environments without succumbing to exertional heat stroke (EHS) is markedly blunted compared to females. Epidemiological evidence in humans and other mammals also suggests some degree of greater vulnerability to heat stroke
