Potent TLR2 and TLR4 antagonist that exhibits anti-inflammatory and anti-viral (anti-HIV) properties
Sparstolonin B (SsnB) is a polyphenol. It has a structural features similar to xanthone and isocoumarin. SsnB exerts anti-inflammatory properties on mouse and human macrophages. SsnB can significantly reduce hypoxia–reoxygenation-induced inflammation of cardiomyocytes by blocking extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK1/2) and c-jun N-terminal kinases (JNK) signaling pathways. Thus, SsnB acts as a potent therapeutic for the treatment of myocardial ischemia–reperfusion (MIR) injury.
Sparstolonin B (SsnB), an isocoumarin isolated from Sparganium stoloniferum and Scirpus yagara, is a potent TLR2 and TLR4 antagonist that exhibits anti-inflammatory and anti-viral (anti-HIV) properties. Sparstolonin B inhibits LPS induced inflammation in 3T3- L1 adipocytes, and reduces the body weight of rats fed with high fat diet. Sparstolonin B mitigates inflammation in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in mice model.

Although significant research data exist on the pathophysiology of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), finding an efficient treatment regimen for it remains elusive. The present study used sparstolonin B (SsnB), a novel TLR4 antagonist derived from the Chinese herb Sparganium stoloniferum, as

Sparstolonin B (SsnB), an isocoumarin compound isolated from the tubers of both Sparganium stoloniferum and Scirpus yagara, has been reported to have anti-inflammatory effects. However, whether SsnB has anti-inflammatory effects on LPS-stimulated 3T3-L1 adipocytes remains unclear. In this study, we

The Chines herb derived Sparstolonin B, (SsnB), is a recently identified natural compound that selectively blocks TLR2- and TLR4-mediated inflammatory signaling. But it is unknown whether this compound has any effect on HIV infection. We found that SsnB treatment blocked
