Biotin is a hydro-soluble vitamin, which helps in the health of skin, nerve, digestive system and also serves as an important cofactor for mammalian carboxylases. It is found within the cells in free and bound pools and assists in releasing energy and metabolism of fats, protein and carbohydrates.

Application

Biotin may be used as an EP reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations using high-performance liquid chromatography technique.
