Gene Information
human ... AURKA(6790)
General description
AURA/AURKA (aurora kinase A) is mapped on to human chromosome 20q13.2. It is also termed as STK15 (serine/threonine kinase 15). This gene codes for a protein of 403 amino acids with regulatory and catalytic domains.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human AurA.
Immunogen Range: 311-360
Immunogen Range: 311-360
Biochem/physiol Actions
AURA/AURKA (aurora kinase A) modulates cell cycle checkpoints and plays important roles in centrosome division, cytoskeleton and cytokinesis. It sustains the integrity of chromosome after DNA damage. The catalytic domain of AURKA possesses a serine/threonine kinase activity role. It is overexpressed in several malignancies like invasive carcinomas of ovary, head, neck and breast.
