General description

N,N-Dimethylformamide (DMF) is an amide that works as a multipurpose reagent that is an effective polar solvent for various compounds and a ligand for metallic compounds. It also acts as a key intermediate as an electrophilic or nucleophilic agent for mediating reactions as it delivers its own H, C, N, and O atoms in compound synthesis.
