Description

General description

Insulin Human is a recombinant form of the human insulin hormone, comprising two polypeptide chains (A and B) linked by disulfide bonds. It regulates glucose metabolism and is essential in the management of diabetes mellitus.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Elle régule l′absorption, l′utilisation et le stockage par les cellules du glucose, des acides aminés et des acides gras et inhibe la dégradation du glycogène, des protéines et des graisses.

Hormone polypeptidique à deux chaînes produite par les cellules β des îlots de Langerhans. Son poids moléculaire est d′environ 5 800 Da. Les chaînes α et β sont reliées par deux ponts disulfure interchaînes. La chaîne α contient un pont disulfure intrachaîne. L′insuline régule l′absorption, l′utilisation et le stockage par les cellules du glucose, des acides aminés et des acides gras et inhibe la dégradation du glycogène, des protéines et des graisses.
