General description

This protease inhibitor cocktail has been optimized and tested for plant cell and tissue extracts. It contains inhibitors with a broad specificity for serine, cysteine, and acid proteases, and aminopeptidases. The cocktail has been tested on extracts from various plant tissues. Whole extracts of plant seedlings from pea (Pisum sativum), bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), wheat (Triticum aestivum), tobacco (Nicotiana tobaccum), and arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) have been tested. Extracts of leaves or roots from pea, wheat, and tobacco have also been tested.This cocktail is supplied as a ready-to-use solution using a proprietary non-freezing formulation. ReadyShield PIC0005 is a non-freezing formulation that contains the same inhibitors as is the DMSO based cocktail P9599

Preparation Note

The recommended dilution of the cocktail in the biological extract is 1 ml of the cocktail per 100 ml of lysate from 30 g (wet weight) of various plant tissues.
