General description

This product is 37wt% solution of formaldehyde in water. It contains 10-15% methanol as stabilizer.

Application

Formaldehyde solution has been used to prepare formaldehyde fixation/permeabilization solution that is employed to fix tissue samples.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Induces tumors in the nasal epithelium of rats, and is suspected to be a human carcinogen. Potent mutagen.
