Choline chloride (ChCl) is a quaternary ammonium salt. The unusual solvent properties of eutectic mixtures of urea and choline chloride make it useful as a biodegradable ambient-temperature solvent for a number of applications.
Application
- Profiling and optimized extraction of bioactive polyphenolic compounds from young, red-fleshed apple using eco-friendly deep eutectic solvents.: This research demonstrates the use of choline chloride-based deep eutectic solvents (DES) as a green alternative for extracting polyphenolic compounds from apples.
