General description

Anhydrous magnesium chloride is a colourless to white crystalline solid. It has a high hygroscopicity. It is highly soluble in water and alcohol. The main starting point for the large-scale production of magnesium metal is anhydrous magnesium chloride. Anhydrous MgCl2 is a weak Lewis acid, which means it attracts moisture from the air to the point where the solid becomes a liquid. It is electrically conductiveWe packaged anhydrous Magnesium chloride in our innovative Redi Dri packaging, which easily can prevent the absorption of moisture. The packaging has distinct features and advantages to protect the salts from moisture.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products that adhere to one of the four categories of Greener Alternatives. Magnesium Chloride is an enabling product used as an electrolyte additive to improve the electrochemical performance of a cathode in Mg batteries, enhancing energy efficiency and overall battery durability. Application

Rechargeable magnesium batteries are considered a promising battery technology for applications such as grid-scale energy storage and transportation. A new electrolyte is produced using Magnesium(II) chloride and magnesium hexamethyldisilazide in THF which improves the performance and energy capacity of magnesium batteries due to improved coulombic efficiency, making them more suitable for grid-scale energy storage and transportation applications. In addition, the combination of Magnesium(II) chloride which is considered as a non-nucleophilie with Lewis acid such as AlCl3(449598, 563919), enables the formulation of a conductive Mg2+ electrolytes. For magnesium batteries, these electrolytes offer enhanced electrophile compatibility, high oxidation stability (up to 3.4 V vs. Mg), and electrochemical reversibility (up to 100% coulombic efficiency) .
Furthermore, Anhydrous magnesium chloride plays a crucial role as a key component in Ziegler-Natta catalysts used for olefin polymerization. These catalysts rely on the presence of anhydrous magnesium chloride to facilitate the polymerization process and enable the production of various olefin-based polymers.
The eutectic mixture of MgCl2-KCl molten salt demonstrates excellent properties as a heat transfer and thermal storage fluid for high-temperature applications. The mixture is formed using anhydrous Magnesium chloride and Potassium Chloride with molar ratio of 32–68%. The mixture can be effectively utilized at temperatures as high as 800°C, particularly in concentrating solar thermal power systems.
Our Magnesium chloride, which is anhydrous, free-flowing, and has a Redi-Dri feature, with a purity of ≥98%, is an excellent choice as a source for Magnesium electrolytes. Its free-flowing nature and anhydrous properties make it highly suitable for electrolyte formulation, ensuring optimal performance in various applications such as catalyst support, and solar thermal power sysyem.
